The documentation of the Iships Management has been structured into four tiers as follows:
1. The Quality Management Manual
2. Procedures including job descriptions
3. Work instructions
4. Forms and records.
The Shore based documentation consists of:
- Quality Management Manual
- Technical Department Procedures
- Accounts Division Procedures
- Fleet Personnel Office Manual
- Emergency and Contingency Planning Manual
- Approved workshops and suppliers
The Shipboard documentation consists of:
- Quality Management Manual
- Vessel Operation Manual and Vessel type specific Manual (as per type of ship)
- Forms Manual
- SOPEP/SMPEP
- Emergency and Contingency Planning Manual and Ship Security Plan
- Health, Safety and Environment Manual
- Engine Room Procedures and Bridge Management Manual
These Manuals form the very core of our Integrated Management System. They document the policies and procedures to be followed both on board our ships as well as ashore in meticulous detail and to ensure that our aim of ZERO quality losses and “ON TIME ALL THE TIME” is being achieved at all times.
Training forms an integral part of our safety culture and to this end our in-house training institute SIMS imparts pre-joining training and familiarization to all our seafarers.
Finally audits are periodically done every six months in the office and at least yearly on our ships. This assists us to weed out system defects and to continually improve the IMS system to make it more effective and user friendly.
